BHIMASHANKAR JYOTIRLINGA

The Bhimashankar Mandir is a Shiva mandir situated in its eponymous village, Bhimashankar, in Pune district of Maharashtra. It is a key pilgrimage centre and one of the 12 Jyotirlinga in the world. The temple's Shiva lingam is one of the three Jyotirlinga of Maharashtra. The mandir is situated on a mountain.

भीमाशंकर हे पुणे जिल्ह्यात असून पुणे जिल्ह्याच्या खेड तालुक्यात आहे.भारतातील बारा ज्योतिर्लिंगांपैकी एक आहे. या ज्योतिर्लिंगामधून पश्चिमी महाराष्ट्रातील प्रमुख नद्यांपैकी एक अशी भीमा नदी उगम पावते. भीमाशंकर हे ठिकाण सह्याद्रीच्या प्रमुख रांगेत असून अतिशय घनदाट अरण्याने वेढले गेले आहे
